Historical Sketch

❖ 1935- Wilbur Sr & Ollie opened Purvis F.H. In 1942 Wilbur Sr. passed and then in 1970 Ollie passed away.

❖1972- Purvis F.H moved to a new building. In 1984 new building burned down. New edifice was erected.

❖ 2001- Leroy Patterson purchased Purvis F.H building & Patterson F.H Mansfield was opened for business. In 2005 Leroy Patterson’s health failed and Wilbur T. took over Patterson F.H-Mansfield as well as 2 other locations thus changing the name to Purvis Patterson F.H.

❖ 2006- Purvis Patterson F.H closed its doors. Later to reopen as Purvis F.H LLC with Wilbur T. & Shirley as sole principals.

❖ 2010- GEP Property Management & Dev. purchased 2238 Whaley Street in Mansfield, La. Six years later Wilbur T. passed away & Shirley retired. The existing CEO of GEP Rosalind Patterson, daughter of Leroy Patterson, then renamed the edifice thus going foward for years to come as Patterson Purvis Mortuary.

Presently, Patterson Purvis Mortuary is a family owned and operated facility. Our principals and core values are centered on the legacy in which it was created. We have taken on a new perspective when it comes to serving our families. We vow to not only bring forth superior service but to always CAPTURE..SHARE & PRESERVE... THE MEMORIES OF LIFE..... for years and years to come.

Mission Statement:

The mission of Patterson Purvis Mortuary is to be more service-oriented than product-oriented. To provide more personal, more advisory, and more confidential care to the consumer. To provide client-families with the knowledge and options to make informed decisions. To place a greater emphasis on social responsibility and serving the total community while meeting and satisfying the particular needs of a client-family. To assist those community educational programs related to death, grief, bereavement, insurance, funeral rites, and recovery while providing total service to those of every economic circumstance.
