Eliga Amos Walker Sr, 98, passed away on April 27th, 2023, at Overton Brooks VA Hospital in Shreveport, LA. He was born in Parkin, Arkansas, to Louise Slew and William Anes Walker on September 15th, 1924. He grew up in Armorel with his brother TJ. He was aWWII Veteran, a husband, a chef, a father, a grandfather, and an entrepreneur.
Eliga Amos Walker Sr was a kind and thoughtful soul and will be missed and remembered by many lives he touched. He had a laugh that would light the hearts of many. Agood old western with a coca cola on the side made his day! He was filled with many memories he shared with his family. He had all the home remedies to cure a sickness; his children use to say they were the healthiest kids in the neighborhood. He carried a lot of wisdom and always wanted his children to succeed higher than he. His grandchildren were his children and the light of his day.
He is survived by his children, Brenda KayWalker of Shreveport, LA, Eliga Amos WalkerJr (Stella) of Huntsville, AL, Alice Faye Heithecker (Carl) of Minnesota, George Alfred Walker of Dallas, TX, Tishauna Cortesia Walkerof Bossier City, LA, and one son who precededhim in death, James Cobbs; grandchildren: Letitia Newton, Taikhia Gatete, Shena Stewart, Lance Stewart, Krysten Sanders, Jennifer Monroe, Brandon Walker, Ha’carra Walker, Keyanna Walker, Bryan Walker, Katie Johnson, Cedric James, Cavon James, Keaston Walker, and numerous great grandchildren.
