Brother Idell Howard, Sr. was born on August 19, 1952, to the union of the late R.L. Howard and the late Martha J. Howard.  He accepted Christ at an early age at the St. Paul Baptist Church in Pelican, Louisiana.

Idell met and married the love of his life, Carol W. Howard.  He began a career of driving diesels "cross country" at a very young age.  This career later led him to venture into his own business, birthing Howard Timber Co..  Howard Timber Co. was a successful logging company that created jobs for many inside and outside of DeSoto Parish.  Howard Timber Co. acquired an array of over 10 diesel trucks, including flatbeds, dump trucks, and log trucks.  After over 30 years of business ventures, an unexpected turn in his health caused Idell to close Howard Timber Co. and cease all business endeavors.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Willie Lee Howard and Otis "Sonny" Howard; his sisters, Betty Howard, Nancy Hill, and Eula Housley; and his son Andre Parrott.

He is survived by his children:  Latrina (Clinton) Hogan, Randy (Saniyyah) Howard, Idell (Crystal) Howard, Sylvia (Jermaine) Mayweather, and CaTina Parrott.  He also leaves to cherish his memory, a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and other relatives and friends.
