Otis Campbell Obituary

With love and gratitude for a life well lived, we celebrate the legacy of Mr. Otis Campbell, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, deacon, and faithful servant of the Lord. Otis Campbell was born on May 28, 1940, in Mansfield to the union of Milton and Nedia Campbell. From this beautiful marriage, eleven children were born, and Otis was raised in a large and loving family rooted in faith, hard work, and togetherness.

At an early age, Otis dedicated his life to Christ and became a faithful member of Shiloh Baptist Church, where his spiritual foundation was formed. He attended DeSoto High School and All Saints High School, continuing to build the values that would guide him throughout his life.

Otis was known for his strong work ethic and dedication to providing for his family. He worked for St. Matthew Saw Mill and later Olin Craft Industrial before eventually relocating his family to Fort Worth in 1972. There, he continued his career at A. Brandt Furniture Company, where he faithfully worked until his retirement.

Otis met and married the love of his life, Moblin “Mary” Campbell, and together they built a beautiful life centered on faith, love, and family. Their union was blessed with seven beautiful children, whom Otis loved deeply and guided with wisdom, discipline, and compassion. He was a loving and devoted father who believed in leading by example and keeping God at the center of the home. His beloved wife, Moblin “Mary” Campbell, preceded him in death.

Known affectionately by many as “Deacon,” Otis was respected for his humble spirit, kindness, and unwavering devotion to serving the Lord. He found joy in life’s simple pleasures watching boxing, baseball, and football, as well as spending time fishing and hunting. Whether sharing stories, offering encouragement, or lending a helping hand, Otis touched the lives of many with his quiet strength and warm heart.

Otis was also preceded in death by eight siblings: Daisy L. Adams, Emma Parker, Lola Williams, Larry W. Campbell, Maybel Gray, Edmond L. Campbell, Lucille Green, and Allie B. Campbell;  three beloved children: Otis Campbell Jr., Gloria Campbell, and Cynthia Campbell.

He leaves to cherish his memory two loving brothers:  Leon Campbell and Alfred Campbell;  four devoted children who continue his legacy: Sharon Campbell, Claude Campbell, Frankie Campbell, and Teresa Campbell, along with a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who will forever treasure his memory.

Otis Campbell leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, hard work, and family devotion that will continue to live on through all who knew and loved him. His life was a testament to integrity, service, and enduring faith in God. Though he will be deeply missed, his memory will forever remain in the hearts of his family, friends, and all whose lives he impacted.
