Sis. Patsy Stinson’s Battle Cry
“Since I met the blessed Savior, since He cleansed and made me whole, I will never cease to praise Him; I’ll shout it while eternity rolls.” May The Life I Live Speak for Me.
Patsy Louise Patterson, 87, was born on June 30, 1936, to Tom and Novella Patterson in Saline, Louisiana. Patsy accepted Christ at an early age.
She attended Central High School in Natchitoches, LA. After completing her education, Patsy continued her education at Southern University, Shreveport, LA. She then proceeded to Bossier Community College, Bossier City, LA where she earned her certificate as an accountant.
She served faithfully at Springhill Baptist Church as a faithful choir director, usher board member, and First Lady. Patsy was the mother of 3 children and her family was a very important aspect of her life. She was the proud mother of Jackie, Oliver, and Roger Jr. She was married to the great Doctor Roger L. Stinson, Sr. for 67 years.
She worked as a supervisor bookkeeper at Security National Bank, United Mercantile Bank, and First National Bank and cashier/sales clerk at Woolco Department Store.
On January 11, 2024, at 8:44 a.m., Sister Patsy Louise Patterson Stinson was called home to glory for her reward. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Tom and Mrs. Novella Patterson; her husband Reverend Roger Stinson; her two sons, Roger Jr. and Oliver Stinson; her sisters, Dosa, Nudie, Nora Ann; her brothers, Ed and Bit Patterson; her great-granddaughter, Calbreunna.
All her fond memories, love, and quotes will forever be in the hearts of her beloved son, Jackie Lee Stinson (Doris); daughter-in-law, Debria Stinson; grandchildren, Cleo Stinson (Anita), Keshia Stinson, Karleshia Stinson, Brianna Ashley (Kyle) Braylon Stinson, Damon Harrison, Douglas Harrison; and a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Patsy will be remembered for her genuine affection, kindness, joy, loyalty, straightforwardness, easygoing nature, and willingness to help others. She was a special person who gave so much and asked for so little in return. The void she leaves will surely be felt by those she left behind.
